My grandfather Noble Mason worked as a bookkeeper at the Smelter in East Helena beginning about 1920-1921. I have some photos of my mother, her sister and my grandfather taken on the porch of the company housing where they lived. If you are interested, I could forward them. My great grandfather raised potatoes in East Helena in the 20’s if you would be interested in those photos.
Wonderful photos and thank you so much for posting them.
These are all so neat!I love history and I appreciate the people who are doing this, so we remember all the great things we have today that the people in the past passed on to us today!
Thanks!
Hope we get some comments. It would be great to know who they are. I’ve put a notice on my Facebook page for folks to check it out. We should get some photos of the slag pile before it’s gone. They (EPA cleanup) are really taking huge chunks out of it daily. Before long it will be gone. For those that don’t live around EH – the skyline is changing daily – no stack, no slag pile – it looks so different!
Looks great! I love the quality of the photos. Good job
I like the looks of the page, having the old photos posted was a great idea. Thank you.
Don’t have a clue, but great photo. Nice work David! The EHHS is fortunate to have you.
Thanks for all you do.
Thanks so much. I figure somebody is bound to know something about these photos at some point. We have lots of photos and it will be interesting to see if other members think we should continue.
