GABA

The amino acid Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) occurs in the brain and acts as a central nervous system neurotransmitter, inhibiting cells from overfiring. It is considered a good alternative to some tranquilizers like valium and lithium because it produces a tranquilizing effect wit hout the risk of addiction. With niacinamide and inositol, GABA prevents stress-related and anxiety messages from reaching the motor centers of the brain by filling its receptor site. It is formed from the combining of glutamic acid and Vitamin B-6 via a phosphate reaction in the brain.
