Tin

Tin’s role in human metabolism is thought to be as a contaminant and possible trace mineral, as it has been found essential for normal growth in rats. Absorption comes from environmental contamination. Food storage, especially acidic foods, in unlacquered tin cans can be a significant source of the mineral. Fortunately, tin absorption is thought to be poor.
